We are excited to share that PAMAfrica partner ISGlobal will be presenting CALINA trial results from PAMAfrica's Work Package 2 as part of a MIM symposium that seeks to contribute to the discussion on malaria in young infants, improving disease detection and prompting appropriate treatment.

Overview

This symposium aims to shine a light on the burden of malaria in young infants, explore current standards of care and limitations thereof and stimulate discussion around appropriate treatment of these vulnerable patients.

Part of this symposium, led by Dr Berenger Kabore (Research Associate with the Nanoro Health and Demographic Surveillance System in Burkina Faso and Principal Investigator for the PAMAfrica Work Package 2) will present results from the recently concluded CALINA safety and efficacy study in young infants with uncomplicated malaria weighing less than 5kg. The goal of this study was to evaluate a specially designed formulation of artemether/lumefantrine for this patient cohort.
